Women in Agriculture

Ruralco is a proud supporter of women in agribusiness and the agriculture industry. Numbers of women in our business is higher than the industry average and we strive to support internal and external initiatives to promote and support women across our business and broadly within the agriculture sector.

Ruralco was a proud to sponsor the Australian Women in Agriculture Conference in 2017. In addition, we are a corporate partner of Macquarie Graduate School of Management's WiMBA (Women in MBA) program.

Meaghan Pohlner is currently working as a Trainee Agronomist with Agritech Rural in Dimboola and is loving the variety of her role. “You never know what each day will hold, it’s impossible to get bored,” she explained.

Livestock Agent Rebecca Oakley has been working for Roberts for nine years, starting out on a two year traineeship program. “I consider myself lucky that my first full time job is my dream job,” she says.

“As a young girl I ate, slept and breathed agriculture – it’s not a career, it’s a lifestyle,” Andrea Blake, Branch Manager, Primaries Moora. Having trained in Europe, Andrea believes Australia is at the forefront of embracing women in the industry and Ruralco plays a role as well.
